Skoal Ready Cut
« on: August 20, 2012, 09:42:43 PM »
Anyone find or try Skoal Ready Cut yet? I saw the name on a cut/flavor listings and I looked it up. From what I can tell is that it is a new cut of dip Skoal is trying where the dip is prepacked so it is loose but the dip is packed into pre-formed together chunks of tobacco but there is not pouch, it is just loose tobacco that is formed to stay together so you can just toss it in your lip.  I am not sure what flavors they are making Ready Cut in yet.

Right now from what I read it is only available in Indiana.  So I am curious, did anyone try this? And how is it?

Jerky flavored tobacco ?
No, I think its just dip but in pre formed blocks so you just pick one up and pop it in.  Its not in a pouch though, its just tobacco formed together into a little block so its convenient like pouch but its actually loose dip. At least that is what I heard its not in my area yet. But its an interesting idea, I hope it comes to my state so I can try it out.

I have a can of Straight and Mint.....the only ones they're releasing for now, and these are limited area releases, just like the Cope Southern Blend. Preformed cubes of Long Cut, just take one out, pop it in and use as usual. they're not too tightly formed though. So, not like packing a tight prilla of loose, just tight enough to get it out of the can and get it in your lip. No flavor changes or changes to the actual cut of tobacco, just cubes. According to USST, they will be available nationwide by Q1 of 2013 but, they are starting the pre releases in their biggest dip markets. I'll try to post some pics soon.

I got an email about it. They are pre cut cubes, I've heard it's ok. But I doubt I could only use one cube at a time.

Darcy said it's just a way for skoal to save some money by taking out a quarter tin.
I would sell my soul for a few pinches of kardus.
